WHO CARES?
Seriously, who?
WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE!
Attention all people who give a shit, a monkeys, a rats arse or indeed a fuck.
Attention all people who really want to maintain real dance music, DJ and underground rave culture and preserve its ability to bring people together, forge bonds and friendships and give space to incubate and inspire the most wonderful and provocative art.
Attention people who value music and dance culture’s humungous healing power.
Attention if you’re already out there giving a shit, a monkeys, a rats arse or indeed a fuck; doing what you can to save club culture, boost new talent, push new ideas, create something for a community. I’m talking about literally anything creative that goes beyond the end of your own nose, and brings people together or collaborate, party, showcase or support. From sharing some of your favourites on socials to running a fat rig. Creative contributions and community work comes in so many forms and guises.
Whatever it is you do, let us know.
Either comment here, send an email to yo@1-more-thing.co.uk with the title ‘I care’ or wait until we update you here. We are going to start building a community Whatsapp group in the coming weeks where people can connect easier and have a space to explore collaborations and become aware of more creative work we can support.
Let’s see how we can help each other. We want to help push others and we’d love help pushing what we do. We know there are people out there who care because we collaborate with amazing people anyway. Now we want to build on that. And we’ll use Sonnet’s new single to crudely inset the topic of caring into everything for the foreseeable.
Yeah. We care about this one. A LOT.
As you may already know, Sonnet excelled himself last year on the dnb side of things - to a level where Rob Swire slid into his DMs! - but this is the sound of Sonnet at 140. Following B E A U on the Incandescent album, Who Cares and Hammer both hit hard and with fire and fusion, sitting somewhere between breaks, rave, UKG, dubstep and bass house. We’re really proud of these cuts and are excited to hear where Sonnet takes us next.
On the DJ side of things, the tracks have had some great support from the likes of Primal, Yves Tomas, DJ Elski, Tony phorse, Vaden, Freeza Chin, Hrdvsion, Synkro, GLOWKiD, Pinks and noni-mouse to name a few across the genre spectrum.
We’ve barely started to warm up the promo machine so we’ll keep you posted on where these tracks take us. To get your ears around them yourselves please check this here link or watch this daft video I made for it...
Other things oozing from 1MT HQ right about now…
What do you know about Nation?
Craggz & Haste have formed an exciting new duo/label/platform - Nation. It’s founded in their deep love of hardcore. We caught their story and joined some serious dots:
Have you bootlegged Lakeway yet?
PRODUCERS!! We have an open contest to bootleg Lakeway! We want to do a remix album of I’ve Missed The Sun but Lakey deleted the project files and stems! We are urging you all to go ahead and bootleg the shit out of any tunes from his wonderful debut album and the best will be signed and released as official releases.
Deadline -June 21. Full deets
Banshee Interviews!
The Banshee train keeps chugging… By far our biggest release to date, we’re continuing to tell its story and push it further and further out into the universe with a series of interviews with a full crew behind the record. So far we’ve chatted to Abi Nyxx and Maria. Dutty Moonshine representing! Both of them amazing talents with inspiring stories to tell. Check them on our YouTube channel
If you’ve not yet checked Banshee please grab it on Bandcamp or stream it in these places. 50% of all proceeds we make for the first six months will go to Refuge and we’re going to drop the remixes soon, too!

Freshest Guestlist
Have you seen what we’ve done with the old Freshest DnB playlist? After a brief spell offline it’s back and it’s fully community minded. We want to create a totally random human algorithm and we’re inviting anyone who genuinely cares about music and sharing favourites to curate it evey week. Over the last few months we’ve had Glitchgirl, Gifta, Akira Knightley, Subdue Audio and quite a few more, all selecting their favourites without filter. Only two rules - 30 tunes. No AI shite.
Whether you’re a DJ, a fan, an industry insider - everyone is welcome. Just hit us up and join the queue! This week Sonnet’s taken the reins and he’s selected a really interesting blend of dance delights that inspired his new tracks. Expect serious nuggets from Distmantle, Boofy, Mella Dee, Sicaria and many more.
Follow the list here and enjoy!
That pretty much brings us full circle! Thanks for checking this update and getting behind all the cool stuff we do. See you soon!
